Dear Parents,
The last week before the Christmas break is busy and stressful. Thankfully everyone is excited and happy because there are some time honored traditions that take place this week.
The annual OLV School Christmas musical extravaganza is Thursday December 15! Traditionally our Christmas program is always a wonderful experience and this year’s program already looks like it will follow that tradition. Students and teachers have worked very hard on their songs and poems so I hope all of you will make it to the performance. Thank you to Mrs. Mason for directing the Christmas play. She devotes many extra hours in preparation and her efforts are appreciated. In this year’s play, the 2nd through 8th grade students will be caroling at Christmas tree lot. They may wear jeans, sweaters, hats, gloves and coats. We would also like to give a special thank you to Mr. George Pisching who designed and built the sets for the play.
Another Christmas tradition celebrated at Our Lady of Victory School is the presentation of the Posada. Under the direction of Mrs. Ramirez, the 3rd grade students reenact Mary and Joseph journey looking for a place to stay. It is always beautifully done and well received. Thank you Mrs. Ramirez and the 3rd graders!
Finally, the OLV School family has a tradition of giving to those who have less. The Our Lady of Victory Parish sponsors a toy drive each Christmas. If you are able to send an unwrapped toy, your efforts will make Christmas morning a little more special for a needy child.
